Shipbuilding and heavy fabrication company Swan’s Shipyard, a subsidiary of Swan Energy (SEL), has appointed Rear Admiral Vipin Kumar Saxena (IN Retd.) as Chief Executive Officer.
Admiral Saxena’s appointment marks a pivotal step in the company’s ongoing transformation. In this critical role, he will lead the shipyard’s operations, with a focus on driving future growth, modernisation, and expansion across critical areas of shipbuilding and marine infrastructure, the company said in a statement.
Admiral Saxena brings with him over 37 years of distinguished service in the Indian Navy and leadership roles across the shipbuilding and defence sectors. He has overseen several high- profile projects, including the construction, refit, and modernisation of warships and submarines for the Indian Navy. Most recently, he served as Chairman and Managing Director of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, where he led key strategic growth and transformation initiatives.

Swan’s Shipyard (formerly known as RNEL) boasts a 662m x 65m dry dock and a fabrication capacity of 1,44,000 tons per annum.
